CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston Police are looking for two men captured on surveillance cameras in connection with an attempted automatic teller machine break-in.

The pair appeared to be using industrial backpack torches to cut into the safe, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

The break-in attempt occurred at a Wells Fargo ATM at 828 Orleans Rd. at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, police say.

Police were alerted to the attempt at approximately 6:50 a.m., when a customer notified them that the machine had been vandalized, an incident report states.

It did not appear that the ATM had been penetrated in the break-in attempt, police say.

Anyone who can identify the men in the surveillance images should call Consolidated Dispatch at (843) 743-7200 and ask for the on-call CPD detective or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-111.
