CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Salvation Army of Charleston, which serves Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties, is gearing up to begin its sign-up process for its annual Angel Tree program.
The Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts for children, ages 0-12, from low-income families.
Sign-ups in Berkeley County are being held at the Salvation Army at 203 White St. in Moncks Corner. Applications are being accepted in person on Oct. 9-10 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Sign-ups for Charleston County residents will be held Monday through Friday beginning on Oct. 13 and ending on Oct. 24, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Applications will be accepted at the Salvation Army on 2135 Ashley River Rd. in West Ashley.
Dorchester County residents who wish to submit an application should call (843) 851-2368 to make an appointment or come to the Charleston or Moncks Corner locations during the hours listed above.
Those seeking assistance at any of the locations must bring:
- Your Picture ID
- Birth Certificates for children 12 and under, or a medical card showing their birthdate
- Clothing and show sizes for children 12 and under
- Your October Food Stamp Letter or a print-out from DSS, not an EBT card. Proof of the dollar amount must be included or proof of all income and expenses, including rent, utilities and other major expenses)
Parents may also check with the Communities in Schools office in their child's school as they are assisting with taking applications through Oct. 3.
