James Island man accused of attempted armed robbery at W. Ashley business

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police have arrested a James Island man accused of an attempted armed robbery at a West Ashley business.

Authorities charged 51-year-old Theodore Oliver with attempted armed robbery.

Police say the incident happened at the Nationwide Insurance at 1200 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard on the afternoon of June 27.

According to a police report, a man entered the business, approached an employee and said,"Stick it up. This is a robbery."

The suspect then left the business without getting any money.

Police are continuing the investigation.
