CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - An accident on I-26 and road work along Highway 78 are causing heavy delays for motorists Friday morning.
A collision was reported near mile marker 205 in the westbound lane of I-26 at approximately 8:14 a.m. That accident had been cleared by 9 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
Also, authorities say one lane of traffic closed for road construction on Highway 78.
An accident reported on Ladson Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. was also cleared.
Viewers reported some commutes took more than two hours.
Electronic road signs at mile marker 200 along the I-26 eastbound lanes showed a 25-30 minute commute time to travel nine miles to the Ashley Phosphate exit, and 30-35 minutes to travel the 12 miles to I-526 before 9 a.m.
