A Goose Creek Police officer who was arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol for driving under the influence on Sunday has resigned from the department, police say.
James Ross, 46, was arrested in the early morning hours of Sunday, according to Goose Creek Police Capt. John Grainger.
Ross resigned from the department Monday morning, Grainger said.
Ross was not on duty and was not driving a city vehicle at the time of his arrest, Grainger said.
