Westbound Ashley River Bridge gets stuck during maintenance

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Drivers on the way into West Ashley from downtown Charleston experienced traffic delays for nearly 30 minutes Monday afternoon.

SCDOT officials say the Ashley River Bridge got stuck open during a routine lubrication procedure just before 4 p.m.

Officials say engineers solved the problem as quickly as they could to get the bridge up and running again.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. the issue was solved, but not without some traffic delays.
