The Medical University of South Carolina inaugurated its new president on Thursday.
Dr. David Cole was selected earlier this year to become the seventh president of the Charleston medical school. The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday on campus.
Cole, the former chairman of the university's department of surgery and president of MUSC Physicians, was one of three finalists selected from more than 50 applicants in a nationwide search.
Cole succeeds Dr. Ray Greenberg, who left last year to take a position with the University of Texas Health System.
