CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have re-opened eastbound traffic lanes on the Don Holt bridge following an accident Friday afternoon.
Motorists had reported that the accident involved multiple vehicles in the area of mile marker 21.5. Authorities had earlier shut down eastbound lanes on the bridge and re-routed traffic as crews cleared the scene.
North Charleston police officials said officers had been working three separate accidents on I-526 EB near the Don Holt Bridge.
NCPD officials say there were no serious injuries reported in any of the three accidents.
Emergency crews including EMS and the fire department responded to the incidents. At one point, emergency crews had shut down one westbound lane to assist.
I-526 eastbound traffic was backed up all the way to the I-26/I-526 interchange.
