CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police arrested two suspects for an early-morning weekend armed robbery and burglary on Line Street.

Donyell Marico Brown, 21, is charged with five counts of armed robbery, two counts of financial transaction card theft, two counts of financial transaction card fraud, burglary 1st degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

Darryl Nicholas Evans III, 23, is charged with five counts of armed robbery and burglary 1st degree, Francis said.

Police say the incident occurred at around 3 a.m. while the victims were sitting in the front room of an apartment on the 100-block of Line Street, when a man armed with a handgun entered the apartment through a screen door and demanded the victim's property. The second suspect stood outside and acted as a lookout, police say. The victim told police the suspects fled the scene.

Police say two of the debit cards taken during the robbery were used to purchase items from businesses on Meeting Street and King Street.

Police also say they discovered five grams of marijuana in two bedrooms of the apartment during the investigation, and a criminal summons for a narcotic violation has been issued for one of the victims.

Both men were being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
