NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say two suspects have been arrested in connection with a robbery outside a hotel early Monday morning.

Police responded to Hawthorne Suites at 7645 Northwoods Blvd. around 8:30 a.m. for a reported strong armed robbery.

The victim told police he was outside the hotel when a female, later identified as 20-year-old Dorthy Brown, approached him asking for a cigarette lighter. While pulling out his lighter, the victim also removed some cash, which the female allegedly grabbed out of his hand.

The report states the victim then took the suspect's cell phone, and refused to give it back until his money was returned. At that point a male suspect, identified as 23-year-old Andrew Hair, allegedly attacked the victim, ripping off his jacket and tearing his shirt.

The victim said he was able to get away, but turned around in time to spot the male suspect with a black pistol in his hand. Police say the victim saw the suspects enter into Room 722.

Inside Room 722, officers found Brown and Hair, along with a juvenile wanted by Richland County Sheriff's Department on an active warrant. While searching the room, officers discovered a Glock 17 9mm handgun hidden in a toilet tank.

The three suspects were arrested and transported to Charleston County Detention Center. Hair was charged with strong armed robbery and unlawful carry of a firearm, while Brown was charged with strong armed robbery.

The third suspect was not identified due to his age, and is being held pending pick up by Richland County Sheriff's Office.
