CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Leaders of the Southeast's $210 billion tourism industry are meeting in Charleston to discuss a variety of topics.

About 200 representatives from the industry are attending the fall forum of the Southeastern Tourism Society. They are discussing everything from historic sites that played a part in the Revolutionary War in the South to ways to attract tourists to the region during the off season.

The meeting got underway Tuesday and continues through Thursday.

The society includes industry representatives from a 12-state region reaching from Alabama and Arkansas to the Virginias.

It was created more than 30 years ago to find ways to cooperatively promote the region to visitors.
