GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Voters in Georgetown County will get questions answered this week about a 1-cent sales tax referendum on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Four public meetings will be held at area high schools to provide details about the proposed Capital Project Sales Tax. The tax is designed to fund projects including dredging, fire and rescue service enhancement and countywide road improvement projects, county leaders say.
The meetings are scheduled between Monday and Oct. 30:
- Mon., Oct. 20: Waccamaw High School
- Tues., Oct. 21: Georgetown High School
- Thurs., Oct. 23: Andrews High School
- Thurs., Oct. 30: Carvers Bay High School
Each meetings begins at 6 p.m.
