DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The mother of a woman who was gunned down outside a St. George nightclub last year is protesting the bond set for one of the accused killers.
Last week, a circuit judge in Dorchester County set a $50,000 bond for Dashawn Brown, one of two men charged in the July, 2013 murder of 23-year-old Sierra Truesdale, according to the First Circuit Solicitor's Office.
Truesdale was celebrating her birthday when she was fatally shot outside the Starlight Lounge in St. George. Investigators say she was hit in the side by a bullet during a shootout between two groups of men.
Brown, whom a authorities say is a member of the Walterboro gang 'Get Money Cowboys, is being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center.
A second suspect in Truesdale's murder, Ikeal Dacus is free on $50,000 bond
Dorchester County sheriff's deputies are still investigating and trying to identify additional suspects.
