NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 33-year-old Goose Creek man suffered three gunshot wounds Tuesday morning during a fatal shooting in the 4600 block of Hassell Avenue, according to North Charleston police.
An incident report states North Charleston police, fire and EMS all responded to reports of a shooting near the Felix Pinckney Community Center around 10:16 a.m. Dispatch received a call stating a person had heard five gunshots and a male was down in a field off Hassell Street.
Police say the found Chad Bradley on the ground, semi-conscious with blood coming from his neck. Examining the victim revealed a gunshot to his right upper arm that traveled into his chest, and another wound to his left pelvis area.
As officers reportedly applied pressure to Bradley's wounds until EMS arrived, he stopped breathing. Officers and EMS conducted CPR as the victim was transported to MUSC, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say there is no suspect information and no motive for the shooting.
A witness reported that a woman near the scene was screaming, "They kill him!" as a chaplain and family members apparently were trying to hold her down.
Nearby schools, which included Morningside Middle School, Academic Magnet and Liberty Hill Academy were all placed on lockdown as a precaution, school officials say.
