CofC Picked 6th In CAA Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE, MD -

For the second year in a row, College of Charleston senior big man Adjehi Baru (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) was named to the preseason All-CAA Second Team in a vote of the league's head coaches, media relations directors and media members, announced on Tuesday at CAA Basketball Media Day.

A 2014 CAA All-Defensive Team selection, Baru is one of the Cougars' and league's top returning players. Last season, he ranked seventh in the CAA in rebounding (7.5 ppg) and fourth in blocked shots (1.4 bpg). Baru also turned in six double-doubles with nine double-digit rebounding performances. He currently ranks eighth all-time in career rebounding (715) in the CofC record books which is also fourth all-time in the program's NCAA Division I history (1991-Present).

As a team, the Cougars were picked to finish sixth in the preseason CAA coaches and media poll behind top vote-getter and preseason favorite Northeastern, William & Mary in second, Hofstra in third, Drexel in fourth and James Madison in fifth. Towson was picked seventh, Delaware eighth, UNCW ninth and league newcomer, Elon in 10th.
