Man arrested in Ravenel gas station shooting

RAVENEL, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies say they have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a shooting at a gas station in Ravenel back on October 9.

Deputies have charged 37-year-old Jimmie Lee Gadsden, Jr. of Ravenel with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

According to court documents, deputies were called out around 3:15pm on October 9th to the Sunoco gas station on Savannah Highway in Ravenel in reference to a shooting. Deputies found a man who has been shot in his stomach and his right arm. The victim told deputies that he was walking along Octavia Avenue when he was approached by Gadsden. The victim says the suspect pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol and shot him once in the arm. The bullet went through the victim's arm and into his stomach.

According to the victim, he then fled to the gas station to seek medical attention and call 911. The victim told deputies that he was shot by Gadsden over a confrontation the two had been involved in the day before.
