CPD: Crews secure gas leak in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Crews with SCE&G have secured a gas leak in downtown Charleston.

Charleston Police officials say King Street in the area of Lamboll Street is now open to pedestrians and motorists following a gas leak at 36 South Battery Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say they received a call about the leak at around 2:48 p.m.

According to SCE&G officials, a third-party construction crew dug into the pipe causing the leak.
