Some residents in Summerville may have felt a minor rumble while getting ready for work Thursday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.2-magnitude earthquake was reported in the area of Highway 61 and Highway 165 at 8:26 a.m.
The earthquake originated from a depth of 4 miles below ground, according to officials.
USGS maps show this is the fifth earthquake to shake Summerville this year. Previous quakes measured 2.2 (January 9), 3.0 (March 19), 1.8 (June 23), and 1.9 (September 26) magnitudes.
