Police find marijuana at scene of reported shooting on Rivers Avenue

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Police responding to a reported shooting in North Charleston say they located a large amount of marijuana at the scene.

The marijuana was found in the parking lot of a business in the 8000 block of Rivers Avenue, but police say they did not find a suspect or victim there, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

The victim, who is believed to have been wounded at the scene, later arrived at Trident Hospital where he is being treated for gunshot wounds, Pryor said.

Authorities say they received an emergency call on the shooting at 3:28 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
