Report: Man attacked, threatened woman outside TV station

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mt. Pleasant police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of slicing a woman's stomach with a razor blade and threatening to kill her while outside a television news station.

Omar Lee, of North Charleston, was arrested Monday and charged with second degree assault and battery by mob.

According to an incident report, Lee was riding in a vehicle with the victim in the area of McGrath Darby Blvd. around 1:20 p.m. when they got into an argument about photos she tagged him in on Facebook.

The victim told police they were pulling up to Coleman Blvd. when Lee jumped out the car and threw a cheese stick at her. She then pulled over in the parking lot of WCBD and got out her car to speak with Lee.

According to the victim, Lee swung at her abdominal area with a razor blade, slicing her shirt and stomach. He then ran towards Coleman Blvd. yelling, "I'll kill you and the baby!"

Police reportedly arrived to find the victim at a gas station across from the television news station, with Lee quickly approaching her.

An officer pulled out his Tazer and ordered Lee to the ground, which he complied. Lee was arrested and transported to the Charleston County Detention Center.

Authorities were unable to find the weapon used in the attack, the report states.

The victim was treated on the scene and released.
