CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - To celebrate the addition of Wi-Fi at four more City of Charleston Parks, the City will hold a "Wireless Workday."
The event aims to highlight the upgrade and bring people out of their offices.
The parks that got the upgrade are: Hampton Park, Corrine Jones Park, Mitchell Playground and Magnolia Park and Community Garden.
These parks are just following in the footsteps of Marion Park and Waterfront Park that already offered Wi-Fi.
The upgrade was made possible by a $30,000 donation from the Speedwell Foundation.
Get Connected: Wireless Workday will take place Monday, November 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. in Hampton Park. The public event will feature food trucks Ted's Butcherblock, Zombie Bob's Pizza, Auto-Bahn, and King of Pops.
Mayor Joe Riley, along with officials from Speedwell Foundation, Charleston Parks Conservancy, and Charleston Digital Corridor will be in attendance for a ceremonial cutting of the internet cord at noon.
