CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested a 28-year-old man accused of pointing a gun at a man's face outside a home in downtown Charleston.
The Charleston Police Department arrested Charles Fitzgerald Phoenix of Charleston on Thursday and charged him with pointing a firearm.
Phoenix's arrest stems from an incident on Nov. 7 when police responded to a report of an assault.
The victim told investigators that he was cooking and drinking with some friends outside a home on Hanover and South streets when the incident occurred.
According to the victim, he was looking down at his phone when he heard a man say,"You killed my sister."
When the victim looked up, he said he saw Phoenix in front of him holding a gun to his face. Police say the victim ran to his vehicle, drove to a home and called 911.
A police report states the victim identified the suspect as Phoenix who the victim said he had known for over ten years.
The victim also told authorities that he sees the suspect in passing at least once a week and was in fear for his life and his family's lives.
