More than 4,000 people in the Tri-County area will have a Thanksgiving dinner this year, thanks to the efforts of Harris Teeter and the Lowcountry Food Bank.
From stuffing, to cranberry sauce, to chicken, representatives packed thousands of Thanksgiving meal bags Monday morning.
The food will then be distributed to families in need.
This is the fifth year Harris Teeter has participated in the effort, but the first year in the Lowcountry.
The food was provided by local venders and money raised through donations at the check-out line.
"Our shoppers are very excited to understand that Harris Teeter is supporting the community and of course the community members in need are very happy to have a meal on their table, just like we all sort of take for granted around the holiday season," said Danna Jones with Harris Teeter.
