COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - Computer problems at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles required a server reboot Tuesday morning.
The statewide DMV system was down for about 45 minutes during the reboot, according to agency spokesperson Beth Parks.
All functions appeared to be restored after the reboot except for car titling, which is normal following in such situations, Parks said.
"We have to connect with so many other sites, manufacturers and other states, and when the server goes down, we have to reconnect to all of them," she said.
The DMV expects to be able to resume title services some time Tuesday afternoon, Parks said.
