$10,000 reward offered for info in postal carrier armed robbery

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A reward has been issued for information leading to the arrest of a man who attempted to rob a postal worker at gunpoint in Berkeley County last week.

Officials say a U.S. Postal Service carrier was approached by the suspect on November 14 around 1 p.m. in the area of Cambridge Road and Eaton Way in the Sangaree area of Summerville.

Deputies say the would-be robber showed the postal worker a gun, but did not get away with anything and fled the scene on foot.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

The postal worker was not injured in the incident.

If you have any information on this incident, call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111 or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455 (select option 2).
