Family: Hit and run victim will be placed in long term care facility

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The victim of a hit and run on King Street is going to be placed in a long term care facility, according to her son.

Charleston Police say 44-year-old Sharline James was struck while crossing the intersection of King and Simons Streets on Sept. 19.

Police found the car that hit the woman, a Dodge Challenger, but have made no arrests. Police have not revealed how or where the vehicle was found, saying that releasing that information would harm their investigation.

The woman's daughter, Sierra Scott, said her mom suffered serious head injuries and has had multiple surgeries since the incident. James' son says she is still in the hospital.

Anyone with information on a possible suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
