COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - Democrat Mary Tinkler has been sworn in as the District 114 representative, officially taking over the seat left vacant by former Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell.
Tinkler was declared the winning candidate during the November 5 election, beating out Green Party candidate Sue Edward with nearly 83-percent of the votes. As the District 114 representative, Tinkler will serve portions of Charleston and Dorchester Counties.
The Lowcountry Realtor was at the State House in Columbia this week attending Freshman Orientation. She was sworn in Tuesday evening by South Carolina Senator Larry Grooms.
