NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - With just three days until Thanksgiving, there are plenty of chances to get on the great shopping deals!
Many big name retailers are now opening their doors to eager customers on Thanksgiving Day, ahead of their Black Friday sales.
So, when is the best time to get a deal?
Walmart spokesperson, Sarah McKinney, said shopping after the big turkey meals is becoming a new tradition for many families.
"Last year, more than 22 million customers shopped with us on Thanksgiving night and we heard from them that that was exactly the time that they wanted to be able to shop again this year," said McKinney.
McKinney says the Thanksgiving sale actually brings out more families.
"The traditional Black Friday shopper probably wasn't getting their 16-year-old kind out of bed to come shopping but with it being right after dinner, they all came out," said McKinney.
However, for some, waking up at the crack of dawn on Black Friday is still *their tradition.
"I'm going to eat thanksgiving I'm not going to mess that tradition up," said Deborah White.
White said she loves going every year, but her children usually like to stay at home.
"Friday morning, get up early 2 o'clock and bundle up, bring my chair and be comfortable," said White.
This year White is aiming to snag some toys for her new grandchild and maybe a new television.
Either day you pick, Thanksgiving or Black Friday, McKinney said there will be good deals and plenty of product.
Major retailers are staggering their deals and rolling the sale items out gradually throughout the holiday weekend.
"We call this the new Black Friday," said McKinney. "It's not just one moment in time, we're going to have deals throughout the entire weekend."
Most retailers have smartphone apps that you can download. These apps tell you what items will be on sale, and when.
