Judge won't release warrants in Heather Elvis case

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - A Circuit Court judge has refused to order the release of search warrants in the case of a missing Horry County woman.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that Circuit Judge Steven John turned down an appeal to force the release of the warrants in the Heather Elvis case.

Local media were seeking the warrants issued in February to search the home of Tammy and Sidney Moorer, who are charged with kidnapping, murder, obstruction of justice and indecent exposure in Elvis' disappearance.

She was reported missing Dec. 19. Her vehicle was found at a boat landing but she has not been found.

Attorney Jay Bender with the South Carolina Press Association says the media will continue to push to get the warrants released.
