CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Lowcountry runners and walkers got a head start on burning calories from Thanksgiving dinner Thursday morning at the annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble 5K.
The race, which kicked off at 9 a.m., took runners through downtown Charleston and the Battery.
In last year's event, more than seven thousand people ran the race. There's no word, yet, on how many took part this year.
Biking enthusiasts took part in the 10th Annual Turkey Ride, which began at 8:30 a.m. at the Bicycle Company on Savannah Highway and gave riders the option of a 30 or 50-mile course.
