An unusually quiet 2014 hurricane season is now officially behind us.
Of the eight named storms this season, six of them were hurricanes. Hurricane Arthur, a category 2, was the only hurricane to make landfall on the East Coast back in July.
The last time the Atlantic hurricane season was this quite, President Clinton was starting his second term and "Titanic" was just hitting the big screen. That was in 1997.
