Investigators with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office say a body found in a Ladson home died from a gunshot wound, and foul play is suspected.
On Tuesday night, deputies responded to a home on Judy Hill Drive after neighbors discovered a body.
Neighbors told authorities that they discovered the rear door of the home was ajar, and after getting no response after calling for the victim, the neighbors went into the home and saw a body lying on the floor.
The sheriff's office says neighbors then called 911. Deputies responded to the scene and determined the victim died of foul play.
A BCSO press release states that preliminary information indicates the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound. The coroner's office has not released the identity of the victim.
Authorities say they are continuing the investigation.
