Lowcountry Christmas parades and tree lightings


The holiday season is upon us in the Lowcountry!

Several city and towns throughout the Tri-County are holding Christmas tree lightings and parades this weekend to jumpstart the holiday cheer. 

Christmas Tree Lightings:

  • North Charleston (Park Circle) - Friday, December 5 at 4:45 p.m.
  • Hanahan (Hanahan Amphitheater) - Friday, December 5 at 6 p.m.
  • Charleston (Marion Square) - Saturday, December 6 from 4-6 p.m.
  • Moncks Corner (Unity Park) - Sunday, December 7 at 5:15 p.m.
  • Folly Beach (Folly River Park) - Monday, December 8 at 7 p.m.
  • Mt. Pleasant (Coleman at Pelzer Drive) - Sunday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Christmas Parades:

  • North Charleston (Park Circle) - Saturday, December 6 at 3 p.m.
  • Charleston (Colonial Lake to Marion Square) - Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m.
  • Moncks Corner (Berkeley High to Main St.) - Sunday, December 7 at 3:30 p.m.
  • Folly Beach (Center St.) - Saturday, December 13
  • Summerville (Town Square) - Sunday, December 14 at 2 p.m.
  • Hollywood - Sunday, December 14 at 2 p.m.
  • Mt. Pleasant (Coleman at pelzer Drive) - Sunday, December 14 at 5:45 p.m.
    • At 4:00pm: Coleman Blvd. between Magrath Darby and Pelzer Dr. will be closed to stage floats. All traffic heading southbound on Coleman will be diverted onto Pelzer Dr. 

    • At 5:00pm: All of Coleman Blvd. from Pelzer to Rifle Range will be closed. All Southbound traffic on Coleman coming from Ben Sawyer Blvd. will be diverted onto Rifle Range Road. Chuck Dawley Blvd. will not allow any traffic eastbound beyond Myrick Rd. except those going to Shemwood, Christ Our King, or Sea Island Shopping Center to pick up children. 

    • The anticipated time that traffic will be completely restored is 8:30pm
