Neighborhood Christmas parade missing custom golf carts

VIDEO: Custom golf carts used in West Ashley neighborhood Christmas parade stolen

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Sylvan Shores neighborhood is missing the signature part of its Christmas parade.

Early Friday morning, two custom golf carts were stolen on Two Oaks Drive.

The carts are part of a yearly Christmas Eve parade in the neighborhood. More than 20 golf carts take part in the parade each year, and one of the stolen cards is used to lead the event.

The cart is custom-made cart designed to look like a 1957 Chevy. The cart's owner says its true value was more than just its cost.

"It means a lot to me. A lot of sweat equity went into building that one," Frank Worsham, the cart's owner said. "They took my car and my neighbor's car, and they had to actually steal his cart to get mine out of my carport, so it looked like it was pretty well organized."

Worsham has set up a reward and hopes to get the cart back before the Christmas Eve parade.
