CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The holiday spirit was especially prevalent in North Charleston Tuesday morning at LifePoint with a ceremony that honored the life of a Lowcountry woman who gave the ultimate gift - the gift of life.
Caroline Walters was in a car accident in 2012 that caused her to go brain dead. With the support of her family, her organs were donated and ultimately went to save the lives of four people and provide sight to one person.
LifePoint and Donate South Carolina honored Walters and her family with a floragraph, or artistic floral painting. That floragraph will be on the 2015 Donate Life Rose Parade float on New Year's Day.
This is the 7th time a SC donor has been honored on the Donate Life Rose Parade float. It's the 2nd time a floragraph decorating ceremony has been held in the Lowcountry.
Walters is one of 71 donors selected across the country to receive this honor.
