COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is announcing another change in her Cabinet.
Haley has called a news conference Thursday afternoon. This will be the fifth leadership change among the 16 Cabinet agencies since Haley won re-election.
Earlier this week, Haley named her choice to lead the state's troubled Department of Social Services, six months after the former director resigned. Former Juvenile Justice associate director Susan Alford faces a tough confirmation process in the Senate.
Haley has transferred the director of the state's labor and licensing agency to DSS to be Alford's special assistant.
The director of the state's probation and parole agency, Kela Thomas, resigned Tuesday. Haley says she's searching for her replacement.
Last month, Haley named her former deputy chief of staff as director of the state's Medicaid agency.
