Charleston PD arrest four teenagers in connection to West Ashley shooting

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has arrested four teenagers in connection to a shooting that injured one person in West Ashley.

Investigators charged Antonio Barrett, Kevin Corley, Elijah Green and Herbie Singleton with attempted murder. The suspects, all 17 years old, were locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Police say the shooting happened around 5 p.m. on Thursday outside of a residence on Acacia Street.

The victim told CPD officers that he had been shot in the butocks while he was sitting outside of the home.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the area in a grey vehicle.

Authorities say the victim provided investigators with information about the vehicle and who may have been driving it. Police were then able to locate the vehicle and driver.

Information provided by the victim and witnesses led to the arrest of the suspects.

A small perimeter was set up around a few homes in the 1500 block of Acacia Street during the investigation.
