CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A member of the New York Yankees is paying a visit to the children at South Carolina Children's Hospital.
Former College of Charleston standout Brett Gardner is scheduled to visit patients at the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital on Friday.
Gardner was a third-round pick in the 2005 major league draft after batting .447 as a College of Charleston senior. He also has a World Series ring with the Yankees.
The Holly Hill native was cut twice after walking on at the College of Charleston.
