Deputies: 'Coordinated plan' leads to arrests in Lincolnville crime spike

Multiple Lowcountry law enforcement agencies teamed up Friday, netting more than a dozen arrests and more than two dozen warrants served.

The Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Sheriff's Offices teamed up on Friday with North Charleston Police, the state Highway Patrol and the Al Cannon Detention Center in a "coordinated plan" that included traffic checkpoints and several warrant sweep teams, according to Charleston Co. Sheriff's Lt. C. W. Brokaw.

Initial results included more than 15 arrests, 14 traffic citations, 17 warning citations and more than 25 warrants served.

That plan was developed with members of the Lincolnville community to address a recent spike in crime there, Brokaw said.
