The funeral for a beloved member of the South Carolina State community who was struck by a car in Orangeburg is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Eddie Moore, Jr., known as "Eddie Moe" to SC State football fans as a performer of Marching 101 will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church in Orangeburg.

Moore was walking in a parking lot of a Magnolia Street business at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday when he was fatally struck by a car traveling south on U.S. 601 that crossed into northbound lanes and went into the lot, according to the Highway Patrol. Troopers say the car also struck a sign and three parked cars in the incident.

The driver and passenger of the car were transported to the hospital.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
