Family displaced after fire damages North Charleston home

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A family has been displaced after a fire damaged a home in North Charleston Wednesday night.

North Charleston Fire Department officials say the fire happened in the 2200 block of Sawmill Trace in the Windsor Hill subdivision just after 8 p.m.

Authorities say no one was home at time of the blaze.

Arriving units reported smoke and flames showing from a two-story home.

An NCFD report states there was significant damage to the home that a family of six was displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The fire is under investigation.
