SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville Police arrested a 21-year-old featured on Live 5's Most Wanted Thursday on a charge of shoplifting.

Kron Washington was arrested after police responded to a report of the shoplifting of a pack of fireworks from a store on North Main Street, according to Summerville Police Capt. Jon Rogers.

Police chased a man who matched the description from store employees seen running through the parking lot, the incident report states. Police say the man stopped and laid on the ground when an officer threatened to use his Taser weapon.

Police say the man provided police with a different name when they asked his identity, but fingerprint records revealed that the man's real identity.

Washington was also wanted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime in connection with an Oct. 22 shooting on Niblick Road in Corey Woods. Summerville Police say Washington robbed a man during a drug deal and fired a shot at the victim who was running down a hallway. The bullet hit a wall in a bedroom, police say.

Washington was also wanted by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office for armed robbery and by the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice for an outstanding warrant for violation of youthful offender release, the report states.

Washington was transported to the St. George Detention Center, police say.
