JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

The coroner's office has identified a 32-year-old woman who died following an auto-pedestrian accident on James Island.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says Alexis Richardson of James Island died at MUSC from blunt force trauma.

On Thursday at 1:11 a.m., emergency officials received a call regarding a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian on Folly Road at Battery Island Drive.

The driver of the truck said he was traveling down Folly Road when the collision happened.

Police say the driver told them that he did not see where the pedestrian came from, and initially was unsure what he had hit.

Fire and EMS crews also responded to the scene to assist.

No charges have been filed, and police are continuing the investigation.
