NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Monster truck enthusiasts have reason to flock to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday.
The Monster Jam, dubbed the world's premier Monster Jam truck series, will perform both days, featuring giant trucks nearly 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide. The custom vehicles are built for high-powered bursts of speed up to 100 miles per hour and can flu up to 130 feet, a distance greater than 14 cars side by side, and up to 35 feet in the air, according to spokesperson Teresa Franzen.
The Saturday performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sunday's performance is scheduled for 2 p.m.
In addition, a "Party in the Pits" on Saturday at 5 p.m. will give fans the chance to see the big trucks up close and meet the drivers, Franzen said.
Featured trucks scheduled to appear include the Gravedigger, Carolina Crusher, Bounty Hunger, Iron Outlaw, Rammunition and Hotsy.
Tickets are available at the box office and Ticketmaster outlets, Franzen said.
