BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Lanes along I-26 will be shut down temporarily on Tuesday as crews remove trees along the median, an SCDOT spokesman says.
The work will begin at 5:30 a.m. near mile marker 199, the Summerville exit, according to SCDOT spokesman James Law. The work will continue until 3 p.m., Law said, with work proceeding west as trees are cut down and cleared.
The left-most lanes on both sides of the interstate, the lane closest to the median, will be closed near the crews as they work and the lane closures will move as the work area moves, Law said.
It's unclear how far the crews will go during the workday.
