NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a North Charleston woman is behind bars after stabbing her ex-boyfriend then posting about it on Facebook.
The Charleston Police Department charged 21-year-old Shantasia Shanay Lemon with attempted murder.
On Monday night, police responded to the emergency room at MUSC for a man who had been stabbed outside his home on America Street.
Doctors told investigators that the victim had sustained life threatening injuries.
The victim said he did not know who stabbed him or what was used in the assault.
The victim's brother arrived on scene and told officers that he went to the hospital because Lemon told him,"You might want to go to the E.R. because I just stabbed your brother."
According to the brother, Lemon also texted him about the stabbing and said she also made numerous references on her Facebook page about "slicing" the victim.
The brother said Lemon was the victim's ex-girlfriend and stabbed him because he was hanging out with another woman; the stabbing occurred in the other woman's vehicle, according to the brother.
Police say they observed the text messages allegedly sent by Lemon. The victim's brother said he was unable to show the Facebook posts on the stabbing since Lemon had unfriended him.
