HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they have arrested two suspects, and are still searching for two others after a high speed chase in Hollywood Saturday night.
Around 8:30 p.m. a sheriff's patrol vehicle observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Town Council Road, according to officials. The suspect's vehicle was then seen passing another vehicle in a no passing zone.
The patrol deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle took off, officials say. The deputy pursued the vehicle on Highway 165 to a dead end near the Metal Trades business.
According to deputies, the suspect vehicle then collided with a brick column at the entrance to a residential driveway and four individuals fled form the vehicle.
Deputies say two suspects were quickly located. One was arrested and charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana. The second suspect was identified and released without charges, deputies say.
Officials say the driver of the vehicle was able to get away.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic collision.
