CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of Charleston Tuesday announced a new payment option available for residents and visitors who receive parking citations.
The program allows users to make a payment with a valid debit card or a Visa or MasterCard, Mayor Joe Riley announced. Tickets will be available to users to pay online 24 hours after the citation is issued.
Riley said both residents and visitors requested the option to pay parking tickets through the city's website.
"The city is always looking for opportunities to improve services," Riley said. "We hope this service will prove to be a convenient way for those with parking citations to make their payment."
Online payments bring the number of methods of payment to four.
Parking tickets can also be paid in person at 180 Lockwood Blvd., 2nd floor, between 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. In-person payments can be made by cash, check, debit card, Visa or MasterCard.
Payment can also be made by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling (843) 724-7375.
Citations can also be paid by mailing the fine (in a check or money order) to City of Charleston, Revenue Collections Parking Division, 180 Lockwood Blvd., 2nd Floor, Charleston SC 29403.
