NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Charleston County deputy was taken to the hospital after being involved in an accident on Rivers Avenue Wednesday morning, according to Sheriff's Office spokesperson Major Eric Watson.
Watson says a patrol deputy was involved in a three-car accident on Rivers Avenue near Greenridge Road in North Charleston around 6:45 a.m.
According to Watson, initial reports show a truck collided with a vehicle, and then the CCSO cruiser hit the truck.
The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital with neck and leg pain. Occupants of the other vehicles were also taken to a hospital. No word on their injuries.
The accident resulted in major delays for traffic heading towards North Charleston, which has since returned to normal.
Highway Patrol is investigating.
