COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is in South Carolina to watch his friend, Gov. Nikki Haley, at her second inauguration.
Christie on Wednesday will also attend a reception as he makes another trip to the first Southern state to vote in the 2016 Republican presidential primary season.
The meet and greet will be at a Columbia law firm and is sponsored in part by the South Carolina Republican Party.
Christie campaigned for Haley's re-election last fall. He also attended U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy's church.
Christie's attempts to woo South Carolina voters could be interesting. They are conservative, but also like someone willing to fight. Newt Gingrich won the 2012 Republican presidential primary in the state.
